Madhumati |
All that she has to do is act as his wife and make money. She agrees. Way to make easy money, she thinks. The man is comfortable that he has made an arrangement but things go drastically wrong.
Madhumati (Udaya Bhanu) is into flesh trade. She's got a rate. And she makes it clear that she gives no discount. Karthik (Vishnu Priyan) finds himself in a situation wherein he has to find a 'wife' for himself. He makes his family believe that he is married but when someone from home comes to enquire, he has to think of a way out. That is how Madhumati comes into his life. She's just the one they have been looking for and spot her on the escalator in a shopping mall.
Karthik and his friend are shocked when they discover that she's a commercial sex worker.
Nevertheless, in his desperation, Karthik hires her not to make use of the services that she offers but to act as his wife for a week.
A rate if fixed. Karthik takes her to his hometown. The family is happy but not the nanny. The grandma, played by Telangana Shakuntala, is unhappy about the girl he has 'wed' because she had plans to get him married to a relative.
The family jewelry is given to the newly wed wife to adorn herself. She does but to Karthik's shock, he realises that she has vanished with all the jewelry. He finds himself in a piquant situation. There's more to the story that is as boring as it can be. Udaya Bhanu tries to woo Karthik, and in the process, the audience with her beauty that is not. The narration is too slow and the picturisation, to say the least, is horrible.
Note: Watching the film could be a nightmare. Stay away from this Madhumati, if you value your time.
